Foreign Office to Chinese Engineering and Mining Company.
I AM directed by Secretary Sir E. Grey to acknowledge the receipt of
Foreign Office, November 25, 1907.
your letter of the 5th instant regarding the occupation of a certain portion of your land at Chinwangtao by the French military authorities.
A copy of your letter has been forwarded to His Majesty's Ambassador at Paris with a request that his Excellency will address a communication to the French Government based on the contentions advanced by the Company and, at the same time, urge the French Government to accept some arrangement on linos similar to those of the arrangements concluded by the Chinese Engineering and Mining Company with the German and Japanese Governments.
